When the organizers of Boston’s St Patty’s Day parade banned OUTVETS – a group of LGBTQ veterans – from marching, Boston’s Mayor Marty Walsh RSVP’d saying that there’s no way he’s going.
Then politicians from both parties chimed in to reject this discrimination, including Republican Governor Charlie Baker, Democratic Congressman Seth Moulton, and former Chief Marshal Dan Magoon.
Thanks to these big voices speaking out, the parade organizers are rethinking their stance.
Big ups to these Bostonians who are dedicated to representing all of us – Irish, straight, gay, trans, conservative, liberal, leprechaun and everything in between – because we all should be able to celebrate the traditions and honor the culture we love.
