Describing Elie Wiesel as a Nobel laureate and a Holocaust survivor is like describing Jackie Robinson as a guy who played baseball. It doesn’t cut it.
Elie changed people. He found hope in places where we thought hope couldn’t, and maybe shouldn’t, exist. He will forever be a reminder that no matter how dark times get there is light. He’s a reminder of how strong and beautiful humans can be.
“Hope is like peace. It is a gift only we can give one another.”
More than anything, Elie reminds us that the only true evil is indifference – that peace is not passive, it’s a choice.
Our deepest thanks and love to a true hero who will continue to inspire us to keep working together, spreading hope, and finding the light. So just like Elie, we’re raising our glasses and celebrating life.
