Dr. Adrienne Keene is part Cherokee, part ivy-league scholar, and part superwoman.
She’s starting as a professor in American Studies at Brown University and runs a blog that we’re all looking at called Native Appropriations.
The blog has been around for a hot minute and it’s full of Native positive representations, contemporary designers and art. Adrienne also talks pop culture––like when a movie or piece of clothing dances the line between cultural admiration and appropriation––and other topics related to contemporary indigenous peeps. She also talks about when big brands actually get things right, for once – like when Nike collaborative with Native American designer Dwayne Manuel.
