While the students in Newcomer Academy may come from different countries and speak entirely different languages, they are all there to learn English.

- Spanish, yes, but also Arabic, Somali, Vietnamese and Kurdish. Altogether, over 30 languages are spoken in the school from a list of countries similar to a mini-United Nations. The entire district has over 120 languages.
